WHAT ARE PEPTIDES?
Peptides are protein fragments, to put it simply. When amino acids bind together, peptides are generated in the process. You may be aware that proteins are made up of amino acids that are linked together. So, what exactly is the distinction between a peptide and a protein? While they are both formed of the identical building blocks (amino acids), the difference is all in the size. These proteins promote the health of connective tissue- leading to the reduction of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
For example, Matrixyl 3000 is a synthetic peptide that is used in skincare products to help with the skin matrix, which produces anti-aging effects within the skin cells. Matrixyl is Palmitoyl Penta peptide, while the new Matrixyl 3000 is this same ingredient but with the addition of Palmitoyl Tetra peptide.
The active ingredient in Matrixyl (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide) aids in the elastin, and hyaluronic acid which aids in refilling wrinkles naturally from within the skin. Matrixyl 3000 (Palmitoyl Terapeptide) will do this as well but it also inhibits and reverses glycation damage. This added benefit can make this a better choice as an anti aging skincare product for some people.
Our Matrixyl® Serum is designed to operate in collaboration with our Micro-Dart Patches to maximise the effects in the skin matrix and dermis. It is a powerful anti-aging agent that helps to firm the skin and eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in skin that is firmer and younger appearing.
So what is a serum? A serum is usually packaged in a small vial with a dropper or pump, and is a vehicle for delivering concentrated doses of potent anti-aging compounds like:
Vitamin A compounds called retinoids promote cell turnover and decrease the appearance wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.
Peptides, which are made up of amino acids, are the building blocks of collagen and can help to smooth wrinkles and firm up the skin.
Niacinamide is a vitamin B3 derivative that brightens and evens skin tone, reduces the appearance of inflammation.
Hyaluronic Acid is a potent hydrator and plumper for the skin.
Vitamin C, vitamin E, green tea, and resveratrol are antioxidants that protect the skin from harm.
Applying an anti-aging face serum twice a day (in the morning and evening, or as directed on the product's label) will help you look younger.
